One of the tremendous benefits that come of learning the Word of God
is an incisive understanding of the human condition, for when we learn
about the Creator, we also learn about His Creation. In this case, the
creatures of Heaven and Earth. The Scriptures are not lacking in the
critical information that we need to evaluate and discern the nature of
our environment in this perilous place, and that includes the mental
processes of our enemies. Satan's first sin was arrogance, a disease that infects the creature mind, what we might call the seed of all sins. Arrogance spawns the sins which are subsequent to it's infestation. There are many distinct symptoms of arrogance; - Arrogance always defines itself in the actions of others. - Arrogance never accepts the responsibility for its own failures. - Arrogance is absolutely undetectable to the mind infected with it. - Arrogance is charactarized by severe delusion. All these charactaristics, and many more, describe the person and mental state of the Father of Lies, the Devil. They also occur in the human realm, for their existence is the inevitable consequence of separation from God, Who alone defines reality and Righteousness. When Man fell from the Garden, he, too, became infected with this insideous disease. I hear men like Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh wonder at the childish and disengenuous rantings of the far left and their ocunterparts, the radical right. What they are missing, the reason for their amazement, is the working of arrogance in the minds of their antagonists. This explains their erratic and illogical behavior. Let me explain; Democrats in general, and particularly the hard core left, continue to level ridiculous claims at our President and his Administration. Notwithstanding the well deserved criticism of these individuals, much of this invective is misleading at best, and malicious lies at worst. Arrogance always defines itself... The enemies of George Bush continue to discover devious motives and evil designs in all he does and says. Can one presume that "where there's smoke there's fire"? Yes, we can, but the smoke is pouring from their own mouths, and the fire is the distortion of the facts to serve their own arrogant ends. I am not ignoring the fact that George Bush, like all of us, is a man, and fallable, but the malicious tone of the charges against him are a vast distortion of his true nature and intent. The kicker is; these critics believe they are right! Arrogance is undetectable, and the deluded mind is totally convinced that it's hullucinations are true. They see these transgressions in a person they hate, because the arrogant mind sees in the President the perfidy that it is guilty of itself. They cannot imagine the thinking of an elevated mind, nor the motives of a virtuous man, for arrogance limits perception to the narrow confines of its own essence. The arrogant define all in their perifery by the restricted and flawed dimsensions of their own thoughts. The recent leak of the classified intelligence memorandum is a classic illustration of how a deluded mind works. Never mind the political agendas at play in this controversy. Let's examine the claims of the obstructionist left. They interpret this document to state that our involvement in Iraq has sponsored the expansion of terrorist ranks. In other words, George Bush's policies are to blame for the violence in the world. Notwithstanding the clear words of Bin Laden, declaring war on the Western World, all Chistendom, Islam has staged this precise onslaught many times in recorded history, and will continue to do so until the Second Advent. At one time the Ottoman Empire, a Muslim state, embraced most of the civilized world. The means of their prominence was violent conquest, just as it is today, but carried out with a formidable military machine. The Moors waged jihad against Isabela and Ferdinand's Spain, and Muslim hoardes have been rampaging and pillaging since Mohammad founded their religion. To claim that George Bush is directly responsible for the rampant violence we are fighting is even too idiotic to pay credence. In fact, the same malaise which blinds the minds of the far left, and the "drive-by media", is that which drives the jihadist; Arrogance. But in the case of Islam, their delusion is the most difficult to deal with, for it has taken on spiritual dimensions. The Muslim involved in the war against America believes that his sacrifice will earn him special blessings in the eternal state. We cannot eradicate a desperately fanatic notion from the souls of men, for the very vehicle that assures them of an enhanced afterlife is the act of killing the infidel, even if it demands that they blow themselves up to accomplish it. The devoted enemies of George Bush should ask themselves whether any man, no matter how powerful, is capable of generating this kind of zealotry? Even intense hatred will not motivate the vast majority of mankind to commit suicide in order to inflict their enemies with violence and death. Ironically, the charges that the left level against the Administration are their very own sins. Their perpetual indictments of Bush's policies reassure the Muslim terrorists that they are vindicated in their crusade. They are encourged to continue their campaign of death, because they smell blood. Their enemy is growing weak, our resolve to carry out this war to a victorious end is waning. The man that they see as the Champion of the Great Satan is under relentless fire from his own people, the press, and our political operatives in Washington. George Bush's aggressive tactics do not give rise to the terrorist threat, but rather the perception of weakness. Even a fanatic will re-think his position, and lose the enthusiasm to die a horrible death, if he sees that his sacrifice makes no difference, does no visible good. Granted, he may not abandon his pernicious ways, but he will likely find another, less final means of expressing his demented hatred. The only thing that stopped radical Islam in past centuries was decisive military action. The one thing that the arrogant mind cannot overcome is the Truth. God sees to it! Our only hope in winning this desperate struggle is to present a united front, a countenance which appears insurmountable. Then, and only then, will the influence of an evil religion be overwhelmed. Tragically, the liklihood of our coming together as a nation appears to be remote. There are too many convoluted agendas in the mix, for it serves the ends of the political left, in both society and the 4th estate, to exaggerate the mistakes of the Administration and invent crimes where they do not actually exist. As Abraham Lincoln observed; "A house divided against itself cannot stand..." |
