REGAINING COMMUNION WITH GOD
Once a person is saved there are two absolute states of existence; spirituality and carnality. I have documented both of these terms, with reference passages of scripture, in the text of Homepage Sections. Clink on the appropriate link at the bottom of the page to study a principle further. So, for this summary explanation I will forego many details. Even though Christ paid the punishment for our sins there are yet consequences to sin. Our Lord's sacrifice redeemed us from eternal damnation and assures us life with God forever. But we must yet grapple with this life until our time is up, or the "Rapture" occurs, and we join Christ in heaven...whence the issue of this life, as far as sin and corruption, is concluced forever. Great! I look forward to making that glorious transition, as we must all, but we are still emmersed in the folds of this veil of tears, so what now? What do we do in the meantime, while we await resurrection? What we do is not the focus of this diagram, but rather HOW we do it, the power to do it. Think of life as a game of chess. There are only two sides, the battle lines are drawn, and the chessmen are maneuvered with consumate skill and rapt contemplation. At any given moment the chessmen are under the control of one side or the other, there is no neutral territory. Now we have to alter the analogy, to wit; we assign a volition to the chessmen, which are us, so that they play an active role in the flow of the game. Their part in the game is simple; Each chessman decides which side he stands on. The other mundane expressions of the chessman's volition are feeble scratchings compared to the measured play of the principals above them, which is played out on a vastly greater scale. This illustration should serve to clarify the role of human volition in this life, in so far as our association with far grander powers are concerned. God's victory is certain, and never has been in question. In fact, God's purpose for allowing an appeal trial to Satan, which is what this whole mess is about, is not undertaken in the spirit of a contest, for God's objective is to reveal facets of His Person to the Elect. That's right, this mess is permitted for our benefit!. On a future day, when this world is gone, our lives a mere memory, with all eternity stretching out before us, we will have an intimate knowledge of our God, things we could not have possibly known but by the course of human history. The angels, too, learn the more sublime dimensions of God, and the scriptures say they are anxious to glean the Gory of God in His dealings with us. The consequence of sin to which I alluded earlier is the loss of God the Holy Spirit from our souls. This "filling" is a principal aspect of God's plan for our lives on this earth. The challenge lies in the fact that the presence of The Spirit is a matter of our volition. When we sin The Spirit vacates our soul, for He cannot co-exist with sin or contact it in any way. But, the solution has been provided for us; What I have labelled "Rebound" here. This is a word coined by my pastor to define the entire concept of regaining communion with God. Aquiring fellowship once again is God's power at work, but our choice. Thus are the historic moves of the principal players in the Game of Earth accomplished, by inserting thoughts and ideas into the souls of the chessmen, and it is they, the pawns and rooks, knights and queens, who carry out the will of the player. There is no direct contact, so to speak, between the principals. The souls of the chess pieces are their interface, where they parry and thrust in the battle for dominion. Ofcourse, there will be spectacular rewards for the good rook, who was consistent to cite his sins and remain in fellowship. This is the fulfilment of our destiny, the end to which we were created, to enter into this great spiritual conflict and fly the colors of The Most High. Not all pieces will attain a lofty spiritual status, but their future is secure, assured by the Veracity and Righteousness of God. The final installment on this page is a word about one other vital topic; The soul connection between God and each of us that generates the divine viewpoint and proper motivation for our lives. If it can be said that there is one single most important aspect of The Spirit's ministry to us, this is it; Enlightenment. Knowledge is the weapon that we weild in combat, "The sword of The Spirit". The content of that knowledge is "The Mind of Christ", which is quickened in our souls...made living and powerful. We are responsible to seek out a worthy teacher and metriculate in the Word of God daily, perhaps on tape, but daily. "You shall not live by bread alone, but every word that proceeds from the mouth of God". Bread is a daily feature, as it is made clear here, so should the nourishment of the soul. The Spirit is our assigned "Mentor", the teacher of Godly things. Our instruction in spiritual protocol is His venue. He also powers the human teacher, even supplies a well defined system for study and teaching. Thus, from beginning to end, and in the twixt, God is the power and dynamic of a unique spiritual life which is our happy lot to inherit. With God the Holy Spirit in our souls, thinking divine viewpoint, applying divine principles to life...we have established our position in the game squarely in God's terrirory, and we will be expected to weather the wrath of our common enemy, but The Almighty girds us on every side, and allows only those pressures to reach us that we are equipped to vanquish.
