Too many Christians suffer from what I call the "feel good syndrome". In the first place, they know very little about God, other than what they have assumed, and their assumptions are based upon misleading and sometimes fallacious information. Let me clarify "knowing very little about God". I know lifelong Christians, in their 70s, who have devoted years and years of service to a God they don't even understand. They know a lot, but not about God as He truly is. What they know is some system devised by man, designed to gain the approbation of God by works, being pious, adhering to a set of legalistic rules and adjusting to other human beings. They can site a baker's list of scriptures, talk for hours about their misconceptions and all of this is nothing more than window dressing! The average "feel gooder" has a standard set of principles that they accept as true, all of which are absolutely wrong. Keep in mind, I'm not just spouting off here.
