Everyone's all up in arms about cloning, and for the life of me I can't figure out why! As usual,
the root cause of the brouhaha is a lack of understanding where God is concerned. People apparently
think humanity is going to create a race of Frankensteins. Is that it?
If God puts something within our reach He intends for us to use it to enhance our existence here. Those
laws of nature that He doesn't allow us to tamper with He makes inaccessible. Take the law of gravity,
for example. Don't you know, if we could manipulate gravity, shut it on and off, that we'de end up screwing
things up? God isn't so dumb, folks, to give us the means to wipe out humanity, or something equally as
stupid. He knows better than anyone, if we had the power we'de make the worst of it. Count on it!
Transmutation of species is another example. Animals aren't at liberty to mate with other species, so we
don't have any horse-pigs running around, or winged vulture-dogs. The same goes for the ozone layer, by the
way.
In cloning we have an opportunity to do wonderous things; pre-arrange DNA to produce a child free of defects,
smarter, more beautiful, stronger, more resistent to disease....in effect, a race of almost perfect people.
What's wrong with that? It seems to me that this may be the next quantum leap for mankind, to eliminate cancer,
mental disorders, all manner of ailments that plague us now.
I've heard politicians argue that we're playing God when we clone....NOT! Don't sweat it. God doesn't extend that
option to us.
Another cloning related issue I've come across is genetically engineered foods. The environmentalists are
in a lather about our ability to grow tomatos the size of Volkswagons. Botanists claim these foods are far
richer in vitamins and stuff. So what's the problem? They have a full bore propaganda campaign going to
"warn" the public of these products. But then, environmentalists are generally against anything that benefits
man.
Here again, I see the will of God at work providing for us. As the population of earth increases, and agricultural
production is steadily on the wane, more people are leaving the farm, in Africa they're killing all the farmers,
there will be a food crisis around the world one of these days unless one farmer is able to grow 10 times more.
Voila! GEF! So what's the big fuss about?
