MARRIAGE

Before entering into the study of The Divine message to us, we must be under the influence of our Mentor, The Person of God who teaches us, and by whom we grasp spiritual phenomena, God The Holy Spirit. To worship God we must do it "in Spirit, and in truth (The Word)".

But some reading this may be "carnal", or without The Spirit, which is easily amended. IJn 1:9 is the "purification verse"; "If we cite our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us of all wrong doing (unknown sin)." Instantaneously we are filled with The Holy Spirit and ready to glean from The Word.

Marriage was the first Divine institution that Satan attacked in the Garden of Eden, and he has been attacking it since. The reason for his focus on this relationship is that God institutes marriage as one of the pillars of freedom in a society.

The strategy is simple; undermine marriage and a society falls apart.

What makes marriage so critical to a national entity (it's for believers AND unbelievers, by the way) is the environment where the next generation are trained in the principles of citizenship, integrity, tolerance, honor and a long list of desirable values. There is also the important issue of morality. When Satan makes inroads into the basic unit of national unity, the family, then his objectives are far easier to achieve.

First of all, freedom is anathema to Satan. So long as human beings are free the gospel of Jesus Christ is disseminated and accepted by a large segment of the population. I've mentioned before that the devil is in the "God imitation" business, trying to reproduce God's righteousness, but he also has discovered, much to his chagrin, that the message of salvation is too effective. His solution is to institute a system of "freedom" based upon paganism and/or pseudo-spirituality.

He has a variety of persuasive rationales to appeal to every race, every ethnic mix, every eclectic taste. In India the reincarnation fallacy is a big draw, and the largest "religion" in the world is Muslim. Where the populace rejects religion as a whole he uses naked tyranny to control the minds of men. In Communist nations the leaders carry out genocide as a means of social cleansing, and the Russian format was to take children from the home and raise them in Communist propaganda factories. Adolf Hitler's infamous Hitler Youth program was also very successful as a brain washing tool.

Satan is a muti-genius, and his understanding of the human psyche is unparalleled by even the greatest philosophers and psychologist in human history. He attacks the children because they are gullible, easy to manipulate, and when they mature and take over the reins of power, his policies come to the fore.

Look at the youth culture in America today. The contrast to my youth his startling, incredible. Today there is a thriving culture just for the youth of America. They generate their own values, apart from the teachings of the parents, which is decidedly anti-authority, anti-establishment, anti-conformity. Teachers and parents are cast as villains, their slang is crude and offensive, they are exposed to sex at the tender age of 9 or 10, their dress relieves their rejection of the norm, and their music, in tone and lyrics, hammers these messages relentlessly into their numbed brains.

There is a special meaning to Christian marriage in The Church Age, for this is the arena in which the most virulent war between good and evil is fought. Th e"corporate testimony" of a Christian man and wife, is the most effective of all Divine arguments in favor of His government. For this reason, Satan focuses potent forces on tearing apart Christian marriages in particular. This trend began in the Garden and continues to this day.

Although men are certainly guilty of their share of misadventures and abuses of authority, it is the woman that is Satan's most vulnerable target. Once again, the precedent of the Garden serves to enlighten us in this regard. And how did Satan approach the problem of perfect humanity?

First of all, he didn't even approach Adam, but concentrated on the woman and let HER influence him. This strategy remains his primary thrust. There is no doubt of the fact that the woman is the heart and soul of the family unit. She is the nurturer, raises the children, creates a home environment, tends to the emotional, physical and intellectual needs of the man, welds the community together and is a natural teacher. It is the man, however, who holds sway over the political entities of a nation, for the most part, and it is the man who wears the mantle of authority in the family.

It becomes clear that the obvious means of corrupting the freedom of a nation must be stimulated through satan's influence on the women of a society. In Eve's case, she became bored, disenchanted, and resentful of the man's dominance. If their relationship follows the pattern of our modern times, there was a disruption in their sex life, for sex is God's provision for intimacy in a relationship and encourages tolerance and tenderness.

It's interesting that Satan appealed to Eve's arrogance in the area of intellect as the means to incite the fall. He insinuated that God didn't want man to eat of the Tree because He didn't want man to be as smart as He was. This line of attack hit the nail right on the head, and Eve went for the apple, or whatever the fruit was.

Alehouse I have little doubt that Satan could also have beguiled Adam, for his is diametrically cunning, but he chose to do it the way he did because he knew that Adam was vulnerable to the woman's influence, and the same is true today. No person on the planet can get to a man like his spouse. It works in the positive and the negative.

The woman is the source of inspiration that compels a man to fight for his country, sacrifice himself as a substitute for his beloved. Much of the motivation of a man in his daily life is also hinged on his love and regard for his woman, his desire to protect her and provide for her. When the marriage fails all these factors suffer.

Another practice that Satan sponsors is promiscuity. Pre-marital sex has many detrimental effects on a marriage. Every man has one woman designed just for him. Their compatibility is complete, right down to the rythum of their love making. When one or both parties engage in premarital sex it impedes the sexual and emotional rapport of their union. One of the worst effects is in the field of contrast between sinful and legitimate sex.

When a person, particularly a woman, becomes accustomed to the stimulation of illicit sex it kind of "sets the bar", or establishes a norm. Let's face it, marital sex doesn't sustain that same level of anticipation and excitement. The butterflies in the stomach eventually disappear, generally rather quickly, and sex becomes a tedious routine. Many women can no longer be stimulated to the point of sexual pleasure any longer, and of the two, the woman's soul is by dar the most vital ingredient in pleasurable sex. If her "head isn't in it", her body isn't either. She is not aroused, and enjoys no fulfilling climax. Her failure to respond to his advances has a "trickle down" effect on the man. He becomes resentful, angry, frustrated, and his ego suffers a crippling blow.

One well known researcher in sexuality estimated that the vast majority of all failed marriages begins with sexual alienation.
