There have been many sovereigns in the millenia that man has occupied this planet, and even some who ruled more than one
country at the same time, but no king ever has, and never will, accomplish what Jesus Christ has; To rule not only in the human
realm, but in the Divine.
In fact, He invented an entirely new and innovative rulership, that being a King in both the human and the Divine realm, in
one Person. Our pastor calls this unique royal patent "Battlefield Royalty" because it comes to pass as a result of the
Angelic Conflict.
Christ will rule in three exclusive venues forever...As God the Son, as The Son of David, and As King of Kings and Lord of
Lords. Please note that the Divine and human venues are not new, but the third is. In manner of speaking, as the King of
Kings, Christ will rule with one foot in the human, and the other in the Divine province.
The ruling authority of Christ will parallel His unique status as God and man in one Person. His humanity, Jesus of Nazareth,
is the heir to the throne of David, thus His title as "David's Greater Son", and "Son of David". In this capacity He will
rule the nation Israel, a promise from God to the Jewish people.
As God His ruling power is obvious, but that leaves a new crown, one which has never been worn before, The King of Kings.
It is this last dominion that is most pertinent for us, Christians born into the age of the Church, for we are the Royal
Family that God has called forth to rule with Christ. Not in heaven only, nor on the new earth, but in both realms.
As royalty in His family we will be superior in every way to the angelic host as well as man. As such, our dwelling will
be where all royalty live, in the heavenly palace of our Father. In heaven we will be given authority and privileges
that no angel, not to mention man, has ever received. Think of us as a parallel to the royalty on earth today, like Prince
Charles.
How similar? Well, may I point out that Charles didn't accomplish a spectacular feat to be given the privilege he enjoys.
He was merely born to a royal family. No merit on his part, no politicking, for he assumed the prerogatives of rulership
of England by merely being born to the right family.
Just so, we are unworthy to be given the fantastic perks of heavenly royalty by merely being born to them, but they will be
ours nonetheless. There is a healthy dose of Divine humor at play in our destiny. As man continues to thrive on earth
the old sin nature in our bodies is compounded with each generation, mutated, and man becomes worse and worse, if
that's possible. The point is that we of the Church Age are the most sinful human beings of all time, yet God will
elevate us to the highest rank of all. This is a trademark of grace, for God does all the work, receives all the credit,
and we receive the blessings of His love.
