It all started in 2002. This was the year I was learning to use sprites. I went to a few sites often to look through and see that they got every frame of that character's sprites. I wanted to try it, but I had a bad computer that kept freezing or restarting on its own (still does that to this day). But I didn't give up. In fall 2002, I tried by making a Dora the Explorer comic, where Dora had killed Boots, and she was on trial. The comic was like the Hamtaro pilot strips, only the background was blue. I used the Megaman characters as the Federal Court and Dr. Light was the judge. After I had completed this comic, I showed it to my cousins and friends, and they loved it and were laughing. I was really good at making a sprite comic, so then, I made a 3 minute video with characters sprites and backgrounds from "Hey Arnold: The Movie" on Game Boy Advance. The story was that Phil got into a fight with a bum, and Arnold tried to stop him, so he got shot, and Phil and the bum ran away. Gerald helped Arnold out by getting him out of jail and defeating his grandpa. Luckily, they did. Once I showed this video online, over 20 people downloaded it, and gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

Then it was the month, the month that started Hamtaro, June 2003. After I made a hit comic and video, I wanted to start a comic series so I can show people more of the humor I put in my comics. I was trying to get ideas, until one day, I was watching a marathon of Hamtaro on Cartoon Network, I was thinking to myself, "Why does this hamster always have to be cutesy wutesy?" And after I watched the marathon, I played Conker's Bad Fur Day. That's where the idea came from.

A Nice Hamster obeying his master + A squirrel who is 21 and doesn't play nice. After that, I was searching if they had any Hamtaro games, and they did on Game Boy Color. I played half the game just for the sprites. And I had over 40 sprites of Hamtaro. Originally, Hamtaro was supposed to be made as a daily comic, and I tried that (if you checked the strips).

Hamtaro was shown every day for 3 weeks, with a different surprise every time. The difference between the pilot and the comic you know now is that:
- Rayman, Megaman, Bijou, and Raykid (Chao) were not in the pilot.
- Raiden (The Fat wrestler from SNK) was friends with Hamtaro, but died a week later, because of Shantae.
- The background was originally a plain white background.
- The pilot was on from June 24th to July 11th, but all of them were gone except the first 3 strips because my dad had to do System Restore, and I forgot to save the strips on a CD.

When I showed the people the comic, they wanted more, but I had lost half the sprites. I waited until I calmed my anger because I lost my work (It took me until August). Hamtaro returned during the final week of August with new episodes appearing (full-length). During Sept 2003, there was a new episode every week. The comic got bigger as the weeks went on. Sadly, one of the episodes from the 1st season got lost permanently, as well as the entire 2nd season.

Hamtaro is now on his own forums (that nobody currently visits), and he finally gets his own site on February 2005. Despite whatever criticism my comic gets, I'm still standing strong years later.
