Chris's Jamaica Trip
So, as many of you are aware, I winged off towards Jamaica on February 16th, 2003, to visit my parents, see the island, and relax for a few days. I'll eventually write up the story, but for now, I've got a few pages of pictures for you to look at. The pictures don't capture the whole story by any stretch of the imagination, but, they're a decent starting point, and, since I've got a paper and a reflection journal to write this weekend, I think the story-writing will be along a bit later in March.
For those who want a taste, the story involves waking up entirely too early on the 16th, leaving snow-ridden Toronto for freezing-rain ridden Charlotte, NC, going through de-icing, and eventually making it to Montego Bay, and then experiencing Jamaican "roads".
I still get bad flashbacks of those things and the maniacs on them.
The trip back involved, once more, flight delays, a transfer in Charlotte, more flight delays, a blizzard (I arrived on the night of the 22nd), meeting some new people, a birthday party, drunken friends, and nowhere near enough sleep.
The pictures capture some of the things that happened in between these moments.
The First Roll of pictures, covering Great Bay, Spaniard's Cave, the view from Lover's Leap, The Appleton Rum Tour, Y.S. Falls, Bamboo Avenue, a walk along the South Coast, and the start of the boat tour of Black River.
The Second Roll of pictures, covering the rest of the boat tour of Black River, including another alligator or crocodile, as well as various pictures in Orange Bay (just East of Negril).
The Underwater Pictures from when I went snorkelling Orange Bay with my dad. There's a bunch of pictures of fish, and coral, and some foolish guy in a mask, and a manta ray. :)
