We walked out of our campsite early in the afternoon and eventually found our
way to the start of the hiking trails. We decided to take the shorter hike, that
started out with a bridge crossing, and the view in the picture on the left.
Along the path, which wound through the forest, we saw many interesting trees
and rocks (and rocks and trees... And water!), including the one pictures on the
right, which forks into 3 different trunks, almost like a trident.

After a long hike and play in the water, a book is nice.
Look at Nic. Doesn't he look so nice and peaceful? You'd never guess that mere
hours ago he was trying to soak both Kim and I, nor could we know the evil that
was about to manifest in him...

The evil has begun to manifest.
Oh sure, he was nice to that rodent with big ears that ran into our campsite the night
before. He actually tried to take a number of pictures of it, tried not to scare it off...
But one measly little racoon so much as comes within earshot of our camp site
and off he goes, picking up the firewood and stalking off to hunt it down... Mild
mannered my butt.
Seriously though, the racoons were annoying and pesky and we had to chase them
off almost every night when we were around the fire. Unlike the other animals in the
park, the racoons became more visible as greater numbers of people arrived. The
one that Nic is scaring off was actually just chased from our neighbours' site.
