While Kim, Nick, Tina and Leo headed into town for supplies, I attempted to beat
some wood into submission, in a vain attempt to split it. I ended up taking a break
from the wood beating to wander into the forest behind out campsite for a little
bit. I felt at home, once again in natural greenery, with underbrush and moss,
and not a single real path anywhere, and looking up, not a single sign of buildings,
skyscrapers, smog, or industrialisation.
The sight of sunlight on leaves is truly one of the more beautiful sights in this
world.
Shortly after they got back, all 5 of us headed out for the longer hiking trail at
Restoule.

We were greeted by a deer munching on some trees as we began out hike.
Before we even got onto the hiking path proper, as we were walking up from the
roadway and over a low rise, we saw this deer, munching away, nearly oblivious
to our existence.
The next part of the pre-trail area wound through a "plantation" of primarily deciduous
trees, planted in nice, neat rows, some of which had been cut down to form a path
for people to get to the hiking trail on.
