Unmei no Kunoichi
A young girl filled with the burning taste for vengeance, Kasumi is called the Kunoichi of Destiny, a title that holds great significance to her role in the game. After an attack that left her brother partially crippled and her father bitter, she set out on an ill-fated quest to vanquish those who had unjustly ruined her brother. Little did she know that her decision to pursue her older sibling's assassins would one day guide her down a path of sorrow and bloodshed...

After being captured immediately at the end of the first DoA tournament, Kasumi was then cloned by the notorious Super Human Development Team for dubious reasons. Somehow, [ever the resourceful little ninja] she managed to escape the clutches of DOATEC and return home. Upon her arrival, however, she discovered that her brother, the one she had entered the tournament to avenge, had vanished into thin air. No one knew where he had gone or what had become of him.

The mysterious absence of Hayate caused a shift in duty, and the responsibility of leadership was handed off to Kasumi. She was to become the 17th master of the Mugen Tenshin style, leading the clan just as the other 16 successors had before her. While she was more than capable of shouldering this great responsibility, the anxieties concerning her missing sibling plagued her thoughts constantly. As the concern grew and wore away at her mind, she could no longer resist the overwhelming urge to seek him out. She left the clan, ignoring the threat of becoming a runaway shinobi. Her destination? The Dead or Alive 2 world tournament.

Plowing her way through the tournament, she had found that her brother was among the participants. However, turns out he'd suffered a severe case of amnesia and had no recollection of Kasumi, their half-sister (Ayane), or anything associated with his past life. He eventually regained his memory and returned home, but because Kasumi had directly disobeyed the strict codes of shinobi law, she was unable to follow. Instead of a happy reunion between siblings, the destiny of young one girl was shattered and rearranged forever.

Now considered a threat to be eliminated, Kasumi fights all who dare oppose her, whether they be total strangers or her own kin. Still, a gentle soul lies within her, for it pains her to harm those who she once considered family. Kasumi fights in order to live, forging her own path through the darkness in hopes that it will lead to a brighter future.

Webmistress sweatdrops at the drama portrayed above, especially since it was a hastily written piece of crap. Um...in short, Kasumi's an outlaw to her people and she has major family problems. She tries to do good stuff, but it gets thrown back in her face. She also kicks a lot of ass along the way.

Kasumi's also a bit more complex than most of her fans give her credit for...and that's why I love her.
