Character Description:

Yuri is one of two 3WA trouble consultants known as the Dirty Pair - although they liked to call themselves the Lovely Angels. Yuri, along with her feisty partner Kei, are sent out to mediate problems in the city, often causing mass destruction in the process. While Kei is vivacious and wild, Yuri tends to be more gently and shy. In Fatal But Not Serious, Yuri's tissue and gene samples were stolen while the pair were attending a Kei n' Yuri con. Thus a clone was made and convinced that she was the real Yuri, only in a sim, and was ordered to kill her "Yuri clone". Figuring this was only a sim, the usually introverted Yuri let it all hang out and went wild.

Commentary:
I really love Adam Warren's work, although I did not fully explore DP. I did see a bit of Flash! but it actually wasn't too appealing. I love Warren's version of cyberpunk DP, and my favorite mini-series is FBNS. I would definitely not do a normal DP costume, but I thought this one was really cute and unique.

It was pretty cool - people actually recognized me! Unfortunately, I forgot to bring the comic with me so I had to just make up the tattoos.. oh well.

Costume Info:

tank top: I could only find a medium men's size at Wal-Mart, so I had to do a lot of cutting. I cut it to fit me and then serge the ends. Then I drew on the same design as Yuri's (not the Kei n' Yuri con.. that was only there on the cover) and frayed the neckline a bit. Only took me about a half hour to get it done.
animated tattoos: Well, they weren't animated.  But I had help applying them. I wrote such things as "Kei N' Yuri Con 41' ", "Kei Sucks", "Yuri's Right", Kawaii in Japanese, DP, Lovely Angels, song lyrics from Beatles and Nirvana, a quote she once had on her stomach, and Yuri, bunny and smiley faces.
bandanna: Just a simple strip of red cotton like fabric.

fingerless gloves: I actually had a pair from colorguard, but they were nude colorguard and a really nice pair; I didn't have the heart to color them. I found these in the sporting goods section of Target. I'm not going to put the metal studs on them though. Oh well.
blue contact lenses: Had to complete the look! I had the contacts free from a friend so I just put them to some good use.
shorts: I owned the shorts, and just frayed and cut the bottoms. I felt that they weren't short enough, but they were fine.
jacket/boots: Both my own.
