This website--begun in 1998, is slowly getting bigger and better--it's probably beginning to look like a Gouldian portal. I have a great list of Gouldian links to share that I've gathered over the years, while first doing research for myself, and now maintaining the list. You won't say "there isn't much on the Internet about Gouldians" once you've been through that list! There's a section also on Gouldian Finches in art, featuring artwork by both past and present artists--a wide variety of work by nearly 40 different artists. You'll also find Gouldian Finches on trading cards and postage stamps and some free Gouldian Graphics for your own website. The misc. section is where all the odd stuff gathers and there's a few fun pages too.

Save this address now, because I don't mind sending you all over the Internet to see interesting things. I've been enjoying the Internet and making web pages as much as bird keeping.

Littlebirds is the name of my hobby aviary in North Dakota, USA. In the past we've raised dairy goats, chickens, pigs, rabbits, a great dog, a few cats. I've also kept many tropical fish tanks--only two now though. Birdkeeping began with Cockatiels and Peach-faced Lovebirds. I've raised finches too--first zebras, Cut Throats, and a pair of Green Singer--plus a few Canaries. Then I saw my first pair of Gouldians in person! I'd seen them in books before that and for some odd reason thought they looked sort of gaudy in color, compared to the subtle coloring of the Cut Throats, for example. It was another case of love at first site for me--I understand that happens often with Gouldians :-)
That was in the spring of 1997 and I've decided to concentrate on raising Gouldians so I can do a better job with them. I have some Society finches also that I can use as foster parents if a Gouldian pair abandons their nest--and a pet Budgie named Baby. The picture below is of young males that hatched here during the spring of 2001. They're all together, not because they cooperated but because they don't know me with a camera, and I'm not very well practiced with it--they're curious but don't want to be close. I'll have to put some up for sale soon--I really can't just keep on keeping them all--I don't ship though.

Note: The Liberty link is not part of my website. It's a page on someone else's site, which I've found that I need to visit once in a while when I'm feeling troubled -maybe you do too.
It opens in a new window, so if you step out, just close that window when you're finished there and you'll be back here again.
