During those years he had many feature and heat wins and top three finishes. In his third year he won the Track, Maritime and Atlantic Junior Championship. At age 15 he raced a Street Stock at Riverglade Speedway in Riverglade New Brunswick. Actually the first time he drove a full size car was on a racetrack. Moving to the Supersportsman class in 2000 at the Molson Canadian Centre for Speed he won the Rookie of the Year honours. Sandy has a large fan base that attend the races on a regular basis and during the 2003 season he was voted by the fans as "Driver of the Year" in an internet poll conducted by Racing Spectator.com (see link on home page). During the 2004 season he was recognised by the Nova Scotia Legislature as being the first driver in Canada to win a prostock race using a crate engine. In 2005 he competed in select Maritime Prostock Tour races and won the Prostock Championship at The Centre for Speed. Sandy's future plans include a move to the Maritime Prostock Tour full time in 2006 and compete for Rookie of the Year honours.

"The 2006 season is quickly approaching. We intend to compete fulltime on the Carquest Maritime Pro Stock Tour. We did a few races in 2005 but will still be eligible for rookie status in 2006. We learned a lot in the few races we did last year and are looking forward to the upcoming season. We welcome any potential sponsors that might wish to get involved. Our area is not much of a racing hotbed and crew members are hard to find on a full time basis so anyone who is willing to commit to a full season contact us, the more experience the better..
