Rita the Lady Angler of the Month |

Captain Miguel found some huge schools of Jack Crevalle and Rita showed the guys a thing or two about fighting our famed Toros. In the photo above you are not seeing rough seas but in fact an enormous school of Jacks boiling on the surface and feeding. |

We have hosted an increasing number of avid and greatly enthusiastic lady anglers this year and Rita Ashikian definitely wins the award for the Lady Angler of the Month. Vancouver resident Rita, accompanied by her husband spent a good portion of their vacation surf casting from the beach in Nuevo Vallarta. They ended their stay by spending a day with Phil and Captain Miguel aboard the SOL. |

The couple had their own spinning outfits and a great assortment of tackle. It didn't take Rita long to establish her position in the bow of the SOL and work her casting technique to perfection. Check out Rita's form, she quickly established her center of gravity and had no problems with balance while she cast into the fish. |
