1) Section area will be determined by your Round Robin leader. Please respect the other stitchers by not exceeding the maximum section size dimensions. 2) Allow at least 2 inches on each side of your fabric for finishing purposes and more if you will be framing with mats. 3) If you would like a stitched border, allow room for that. 4) On paper, play around with different section sizes and positioning of sections . Determine your project layout and size before you purchase fabric. 5) Zigzag or serge your edges to prevent fraying (please do not use tape as it will come off). 6) Section off fabric using basting stitches in a colour that is easily seen (use quality sewing thread that does not fray easily so as to not leave fuzzies on the fabric once it is removed). 7) Make a note of the stitch count of each section and alert each participant so that they may begin searching for suitable patterns. 8) If you would like to stitch a border around each section either stitch it during the first month that you have your own fabric or section off space so that you may stitch it when your piece is returned to you. 9) Remember that your sections probably will not be entirely filled with stitches – the design will be centred in the section. 10) Now you may select a pattern and stitch it within one of the sections. You may also stitch a border around the entire piece and/or around each section. copyright 2002 leah macarthur |
