Mailing Procedures

1) These are general mailing procedures. Specific mailing procedures should be provided by your RR leader.

2) You must have completed the sectioning of your fabric and your stitching before the end of the first rotation.

3) Have your small notebook prepared before the end of the first rotation.

4) Prepare labels addressed to all stitchers in the RR. Write the addresses in permanent ink or make them using your computer and printer.

5) Put your fabric, notebook, and labels in a plastic ziplock bag. Write your name and address on the ziplock bag.

6) One of the best types of envelopes to use for mailing your project is a JetPak envelope but a bubble wrap envelope will do in a pinch.

7) To ensure that your envelope will remain intact throughout the rotations you may staple it close. Alternatively, you may place a layer of clear packing tape on the back of the envelope directly where the seal flap will go and that is at least an inch more than the width of the seal flap. Then place a layer of clear packing tape on the on the outside of the seal flap so that it covers the seal flap entirely. Use clear packing tape to seal the envelope.

8) Write your return address on the envelope and place a layer of clear packing tape over it so that it does not get obscured during the the rotations.

9) Place a layer of clear packing in the middle of the envelope that is at least an inch larger than your address label. Place your label over that and cover it entirely with clear packing tape.

10) Send the envelope airmail. You will have to include a customs form for international mailing.

11) If mailing International, be sure to indicate that the package is a gift and not merchandise. To avoid any customs fees, make sure that value is indicated as less than $10.

12) Make sure that you have a secure and reliable postal address so that items will not be stolen or lost.
