The story of my site...

Everything began October 2002 when I decided to make an Final Fantasy X avatar set. I made some other avatar sets including Fellowship of The Rings and Breath of Fire III. I uploaded them to Internet in zips for everyone to download. Back then my site was still called Salamander's Avatar Downloading Place.

During that time I was given dozens of requests. Avatar sets were always with only few exceptions very small. When I reached 1000 avatars February 16 2003 I changed my page's look and the name to Salamander's Avatar Place. The avatars were no longer in zips. That time I made some of major avatar sets of the early days of SAP like Breath of Fire II, Capcom vs SNK 2 and Final Fantasy VII, which was the biggest avatar set on SAP for more than half a year.

Around April I recruited three other avatar makers to my site: CosmicCastaway, Syphon and Tetra. Tetra stayed around for only few weeks before opening her own page. Syphon left september and CosmicCastaway december. I also began e-mailing avatar news march and ended it October because I was too busy.

At the beginning of June I made Rurouni Kenshin avatar set and the avatar count reached 2000. Durin that summer I also rased quality of avatars by not compressing them so much. I remember that I made a lot of fighting game avatar sets mostly King of Fighters and Street Fighters. My summer ended in August 14 with Tenchi Muyo! set that was the first one to surpass Final Fantasy VII in number of avatars.

September I began posting news every now and then. Since I was very busy I din't have time to make anything special. And at October firsr my site had been online for a year and it had over 2500 avatars.

With a serie of Samurai Shodown avatar sets I reached 3000 avatars. For some time in December my site was under construction and the new SAP was published in December 27. I was a big fan of Samurai Shodown back then and I decided to use a picture from Samurai Shodown 64 as a background image.

January 2004 was a busy period so I didn't do anything special but in February I published my first avatar campaign: "Street Fighter Strikes Back!". 10 avatar sets and 3 updates were published and the avatar count reached 4000.

Nothing special was done during March or April but in May I published Samurai Deeper Kyo avatar set and updated SAP's desing a bit. Samurai Deeper Kyo had 205 avatars and it kicked avatar count up to 5000 and it was also my 100th avatar set. Rest of May was mostly waiting for summer...

Summer 2004 I had plenty of time to make avatars. I made a lot of big avatar sets and published 'The Majesty Of Fighting'-campaign as well which made the avatar count to pass 6000. There was still a lot of summer left and before my holiday was over SAP's avatar count was more than 7000. So almost 2000 avatara were made that summer.

At the end of August I published my first remakes. My old computer broke down and I couldn't do anything fro a month! I came back October 16 with a remake of Ragnarök Online. It was hard making avatars for beginning after such a long break but I got used to it soon enough.

November SAP had been online for two years. I also published my 'Rising Force of Gear'-campaign and the remake of about year old avatar set Guilty Gear X2 became the biggest set on SAP so far with 220 avatars.

December 2004 I changed SAP's design again. The construction of the site was edited as well. The picture I used is taken from Hellsing and that new design was published at the same time with Hellsing avatar set.

The first avatar set of 2005 was a remake of the legendary Final Fantasy VII avatar set. Avatar count also passed 8000.

I have now published my final avatar set, remake of Final Fantasy X avatar set. Farewell everyone!
