June 13, 2005 - "The circle is now complete."
It all began two years ago with a single avatar set. Now it ends with a remake of the same set. Thus I present you my final avatar set, Remake of Final Fantasy X avatar set.
I wonder what I'll be doing now that I'm done with SAP. Mayby I open a new page for something else. Dunno, I have no plans at the moment...
Mayby you'll hear of me again someday, but for now I want to thank all of you and I wish you farewell.

Fine! I will! I shall use my skills to make one more avatar set as a parting gift to all the people who've been and still are fans of this site! Certainly there ain't many of them...

That's right. I just don't feel like making avatars at the moment and I won't do it if don't enjoy it. Let's hope I'll get around to do avatars soon again.

I haven't been able to do many avatars 'cause I've been really busy with various other projects. I try to spend more time working with avatars, but I doubt I can. Sigh...
Anyways, at least I did a new avatar set, Samurai Shodown! Pocket Fighting Series. It's better than nothing for sure...
Feb 24, 2005 - Lots of things to say...
I've been on holiday for a while and school's starting again next monday. I haven't been bothered to make any avatar sets for some time. To give ya something I decided to publish a remake of Final Fantasy X-2 which I made some time ago. I still haven't bought that game, but there's no need to hurry things.
Anyways, 'cause I'm receiving a lot of junk mail these days, you must put "Feedback to Salamander" or something like that to the subject of your e-mails for me to know that it's not junk mail. I won't open a message with nothing or something fishy, like a simpe "Hi!", as the subject. Don't send attachments unless I've given you permission to do so, 'cause I won't open messages with attachments from strangers.
I think I won't be doing anymore avatars this holiday 'cause I've got lots of other things to do. I've updated my profile with some trivial information.
Feb 6, 2005 - Gathering material...
I haven't made new sets for a while 'cause I've been gathering some material for them. Now I've got plenty and I'm working on avatar sets again.
Today I made Bloody Roar 3. The animal form avatars were suprisingly hard to make. I won't do more Bloody Roar sets for a while.
Jan 29, 2005 - More time coming up!
I'm going to have a little more time to work on SAP after a while. Don't expect anything big though.
I did Tekken 5 avatar set. That's one game I'm gonna get!

It feels like I'm having less time day by day. I have so many hobbies that I can't make so many avatars as I was able to do before. Guess it can't be helped...
Anyways I did avatar set of a RPG called Tempest.
Jan 6, 2005 - Back from the holidays...
As you can probably guess, I spent most of my holidays just relaxing. I began working on a big project and it's half done. Anyway today I give you a remake of Final Fantasy VII. I think I'll remake all of my favourite old avatar sets.
Also SAP has now over 8000 avatars! Pretty much, eh? I think there will be 10000 before SAP's third anniversity... My profile's been updated too.
Dec 25, 2004 - Happy holidays folks!
Like you can see it's Christmas holiday and I'm working on my site. I won't promise to make many sets because I have a lot of other things to do, but I try to make a few bigger sets.
Today's avatar set's a remake of Tekken 4. At the moment I have to spend a lot of time on fighting games because there's a tournament in few weeks and I have to practise to learn how to fight better.

The design of my page has been updated. I like this picture much better and the text is easier to read. That background picture is taken from Hellsing and I've also done Hellsing avatar set.
There's also a new section called History. There you can read things about the history of my site.
Dec 1, 2004 - Rising Force of Gear - Pt. 3 Destroy!!
The final Guilty Gear avatar set's here and it's remake of Guilty Gear X2. With whopping 220 avatars it's the biggest set on SAP!
Hope you enjoyed this campaign. I've already begun working on my next project. It'll be an avatar set and an update to this site's design. Until then...

The campaign goes on with a one big set, a remake of Guilty Gear X. Remakes are good because that way I can make sets done without much care again. The next and final set in this campaign is going to be remake too...
Nov 29, 2004 - Rising Force of Gear - Pt. 1 Rock You!!
The campaign I've spoke of is finally here. As you see it's Guilty Gear campaign. Today's sets are Guilty Gear, Guilty Gear X Anime Trailer and Guilty Gear Isuka. There will be three parts and I'll try to publish all of them this week but there's still lots of avatars to tune...
Also notice that these avatar's are all quite sharp. That's because I finnally got around to use PSP7's sharpening tool. I've had it all this time so it's about time to start using it...
Nov 20, 2004 - More spare time coming up!
I'm going to have some exams next and the following week in school. That means that there's no regular school going and I'll be able to make more avatars! Marvelous! I'll work on some major projects then.
Today I've made Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time set. The game's great but the art found on net could have been better. Anyway it's a decent set.

Man, I just realized that SAP's been online for 2 years and 5 days. Should've realized that earlier...
Anyway I did Unlimited Saga and my Profile's been updated. I'm soon going to start working with some major avatar sets. Expect campaigns this and next month!
Oct 30, 2004 - It's returning to me...
Making avatars is starting to feel more comfy now. I still have to get used to my much smoother mouse than the one I had before. I think I'll start some major projects soon...
Today I've made NeoGeo Battle Coliseum which seems quite interesting.

To make a long story short: My computer crashed and it took some time to get new one. Now I'm back ad it's very excellent! A month's along time so I might have lost my touch but it'll return...
I was planning to include remake of Ragnarök Online to my coming campaign but I'll publish it now to get this site back into action.
Aug 29, 2004 - Just I expected...
Once again school is keeping me busy. I really can't promise to publish an avatar set every weekend, but I do my best. I've got two big projects under construction. I guess that if I spend next weekend making them another one of them will be ready the weekend after next one.
Today's time for more remakes to see daylight. My first remade sets were Capcom vs SNK Pro and Capcom vs SNK 2. Now I've remade Breath of Fire III & IV. I'm planning to remake some other old sets too.

School that is... So I'm busy during weeks and lazy during weekends but I try to make new avatar sets every now and then.
I finally did Xenosaga avatar set. It seems to be I never get to play that game...
Aug 10, 2004 - Once more with a feeling!
Hereby I publish the last avatar set of this summer, The War of Genesis 3. Now SAP has over 7000! School starts next week so I'm going to use rest of my holiday to relax.

That's right! I've still got then days of my summer holiday left. I'm trying to focus on making one more big set to make avatar count over 7000. I just might be able to do that...
Today I've got avatar set of Generation of Chaos IV. I know nothing about it but that's no problem for me.
July 30, 2004 - It'll all be over soon...
Well not quite all but my summer holiday... Anyway I'm satisfied with the avatars I've done this summer. So far I've done about 1000 avatars and I still have two weeks of holiday. Don't except anything big though...
And today's avatar set Legend Of Mana... I only did it because Secret of Mana 2 AKA Seiken Densetsu 3 was so great. No further comments...
July 21, 2004 - Resizing Problems...
When I make avatars I have to resize pictures a lot to make them fit into small 64X64 boxes. Resizing pictures a bit like 20-30% doesn't usually matter but resizing them 40-50% can sometimes bring the quality down. If the picture isn't very high quality to begin with the resized picture usually looks pretty bad.
Aligning pictures can be hard but at least it can be helped. Sadly there's nothing I can do about too big low quality pictures. I had to resize pictures a lot to make Magna Carta and Magna Carta CS avatar sets. They're pretty good but I wouldn't call them prefect in quality...

July 10, 2004 - The Majesty Of Fighting ~ Part VIII : The King - Act III
Today are published the final sets of 'The Majesty Of Fighting' campaign. They're all updated to older King Of Fighters sets and they are King Of Fighters 2001, King Of Fighters 2002 and King Of Fighters 2003.
This campaign is now over and I must say that it was pretty nice. At the moment I'm not sure what I'm going to do next but I'm quite positive that I'll make a couple of small sets for now.

It's time for The Kimg and The King is The The King Of Fighters. Today I'm publishing King Of Fighters Maximum Impact and The King Of Fighters Neowave. This is just the Act I which means that there'll be more King Of Fighters avatar sets. See them later.
July 7, 2004 - The Majesty Of Fighting ~ Part V : The Brave
Today I'm publishing two sets Soul Blade and Soul Calibur. They're both very big and Soul Calibur's the second biggest set on my site. Also this site now has over 6000 avatars.
The campaign isn't over yet. There's still plenty of more sets to come.
July 4, 2004 - The Majesty Of Fighting ~ Part IV : The Clash
And now for something completely different. Today I've done something never seen before on this site. I have remade avatars Capcom VS SNK Pro & Capcom VS SNK 2. For a long time I have thought that some avatars of those two sets are way below average quality. If someone wants to compare the original avatars to the new ones send me an e-mail and I send the original avatars.
I think that it's good to remake older sets since when I began making avatars my skills were far from the level they're now. I'm quite sure that there will be more Remade sets in future but at the moment there's no set I'm planning to remake.
July 3, 2004 - The Majesty Of Fighting ~ Part III : The Wicked
The campaign goes on and on... This time we shall travel into the night... To see The Wicked... But who art they...? Could they be... Dark Stalkers...?
So today I have made Dark Stalkers and Dark Stalkers 2 avatar sets and updated my Dark Stalkers 3 set. This campaign has just began and there's still plenty of sets to be published.
July 2, 2004 - The Majesty Of Fighting ~ Part II : The Original
Today I have published Street Fighter II avatar set and an update to Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Finding pictures from older games can sometimes be very difficult but I was able to find some excellent flyer scans. I've used flyer scans in many sets of this campaign.
July 1, 2004 - The Majesty Of Fighting ~ Part I : The Beginning
The new avatar campaign is finally here. And as you can guess there's going to be a plenty of new fighting game avatar sets and updates. I try to publish those sets as often as I can since everything's already done and I have a plenty of time.
Today I have only one set and it's Samurai Spirits Zero Special. It might be rather small but this is just the beginning...
June 19, 2004 - The campaign soon to come...
Almost all of the avatar sets of my new campaign are ready. One of my major picture sources is currently under construction and thus I haven't been able to get all the pics I need. If I get the pictures I still need soon I'm quite certain that the campaign will begin next weekend or the one after that. It's going to be really big so don't miss it.
While I haven't been able to make the rest of the sets of the new campaign I made Disgaea: Hour Of Darkness avatar set. It holds so far the title of the third biggest avatar set on SAP tied with Tenchi Muyo! which also has 150 avatars.
June 7, 2004 - Chilling out...
I haven't yet done many sets this summer, but I'm doing avatars every now and then. I've done plenty of sets that will be published together as a campaign. But today I decided to do something else so I did Suikoden II and Suikoden III. I think I've been asked to make them...
May 30, 2004 - School's Out!
The school ended yesterday but I was too busy to get anything done. Now that my long and awaited holiday has finally began I'm finally going to have time to relax.
I guess I will publish new avatar sets every now and then. I already have a huge project under construction. It will take some time so try to be patient.
May 16, 2004 - Last weeks...
There's only two weeks to my summer holiday. Before that I got plenty of exams so I have to study a lot. I'm not sure wheter I can or can not do any new sets during that time, but we'll see that soon enough.
May 8, 2004 - Waiting for summer...
There's only few weeks to summer. For me it means a long holiday from school. On my holiday I'm going to try to make as many avatars as I can. I've already gathered resources for few big and not so big avatar sets.
Ofcourse I'm not going to use all of my time to work on SAP. I'm also going relax and chill out.
May 1, 2004 - They have been done...
The new version of this site and the big new set have finally been done. The new set is Samurai Deeper Kyo, which is so far my biggest avatar set with unbelieveable 205 avatars. I took me a long time to make all those avatars and even longer to take all the screenshot I used to make it. It is also 100th avatar set on Salamander's Avatar Place and kicks the avatar count up to 5000!
And now few words of the new version of the site: This site is now supposed to work at any kind of resolution, background picture has been made lighter to make text easier to read, some links have different texts and avatar sets are now sorted alphabetically.
Now that this huge project is finally complete, I have to time to make more and smaller avatar sets. Thanks to all the people that have supported Salamander's Avatar Place in any way!
April 25, 2004 - No new set this weekend...
Like said above there will be no new set published this weekend. That is because I have a really big one under construction. I've also done some changes to the site itself.
The new version of this site and the new set will be published as soon as they're ready. I'm not sure if I get them ready for the next weekend.
April 3, 2004 - Last updates...
Today I've updated both Dead or Alive 2 and Dead or Alive 3. While update to DOA3 features all characters equally, update to DOA2 is girl focused because of resources I had to work with.
I chose to update Dead or Alive sets because I happened to find some sites with lot of official art and screenshots. It was a chance so great I just couldn't pass it.
April 2, 2004 - More updates...
Today I've got a big update to Street Fighter III. The art is taken from Capcom Design Works and some other art books.
I still have more updates to publish. They'll be published very soon.

I've done updates to a couple of old avatar sets I wanted to make better. I'm publishing them separetely like in 'Street Fighter strikes back!'-campaign.
Today I've published a second update to Soul Calibur II. This new update features both digital and hand-drawn art.

March 14, 2004 - Guess I shoul say something...
I'm still busy, but I think I'll have some more time for avatars at the end of this month.
I have a couple of small sets under construction and quite a few of big sets as well. I think there will be over 5000 avatars in Salamander's Avatar Place before summer.
February 28, 2004 - Busy once again...
My holiday's over and I must spend some of my time studying for school. I can make avatars at weekends so don't expect many avatar sets to be published on weeks.
February 20, 2004 - Damn I'm lazy...
I've been on a holiday for five days and during that time I've not managed to publish a single avatar set. I have resources needed for a couple of sets, but I'm too lazy to do anything. At least I was finally able to finish my Venus & Braves avatar set.
February 15, 2004 - Street Fighter strikes back! Final part
Today I have two updates, Street Fighter Alpha 2 and Street Fighter Alpha 3. Update of Street Fighter Alpha 3 makes it my biggest avatar set and raises the total avatar count up to 4078! Party time!
I wish that you liked this campaign of mine since it is over now. Expect more campaings like this one or just theme days in future.

Today's avatar sets are Street Fighter EX, Street Fighter EX2, and Street Fighter EX3. They're the first 3D Street Fighters if not only. Capcom made them together with Arika so there are some new characters designed by Arika.

Today we have two new sets and one updated. They are SNK vs. Capcom: Match of the Millenium, Pocket Fighter and an update to Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo.
February 6, 2004 - Street Fighter strikes back! Part 1
For a couple of months I've gathered resources to make a massive pile of Street Fighter avatars. Now I'm finally done with making them. I'm going to publish them separately because there is so many of them.
Today's Street Fighter avatar set is Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival, the newest version of the good old Street Fighter II.
January 27, 2004 - Too busy...
I've been rather busy lately but I'm going to have more spare time for awhile in a couple of weeks. Expect many new sets then.
January 6, 2004 - My hypothesis
If I keep making avatars like this, without lowering or rising the quality, I will be able to host about 7000 more avatars. That sounds like a lot, but it will probably take only a couple of years to reach that number. When I reach it I'll probaly compress all my avatars a bit to get more space.
Well, no reason to worry about that now!
December 31, 2003 - Happy New Year!
2003 is going to be over soon. For 2004 I promise to make as many avatars as I can. I actually have a big project under construction.

December 27, 2003 - New Salamander's Avatar Place
CosmicCastaway hasn't contacted me for a while so I decided not to wait anymore for her site to be ready. I have finally uploaded new version of my website. It looks different, but it's the same old Salamander's Avatar Place. Comments about my new design would be nice.
December 19, 2003 - Under Construction...
There hasn't been many avatar sets released lately because Salamander's Avatar Place is under construction. CosmicCastaway and I are going to separate. She's going to run her own avatar site. When she gets it up I will remove her from Salamander's Avatar Place and upload whole new version of this website.
November 22, 2003 - Over 3000 avatars
Due to publication of three Samurai Shodown avatar sets Salamander's Avatar Place has 3085 avatars. I believe that Salamander's Avatar Place will have over 4000 avatars around next spring. There will probably be a couple of big sets published before new year, but I can't say anything certain yet.
November 16, 2003 - Concerning upcoming avatar sets
I have never told anything about upcoming avatar set because I haven't been asked to. Now I have decided to say couple of words about my next big project, which is Samurai Shodown. Samurai Shodown is a fighting game made by SNK. It is very good game and I recommend it to fans of 2D fighting games.
Since there is many Samurai Shodown games, I'm not going to make one big set, but couple of average-sized sets. Samurai Shodown avatar set that I have under construction include Samurai Shodown IV, Samurai Shodown 64 and Samurai Shodown: Warrior's Rage. I can't tell any excact time for publication of those sets, but I think that they will be published in next couple of weeks.
November 9, 2003 - Soul Calibur II updated?
This morning I decided to make a Soul Calibur II avatar set. But when I visited home page of Soul Calibur II, I noticed that the pictures it offered were the ones I used to make Soul Calibur avatar set.
I have now changed my Soul Calibur avatar set's name to Soul Calibur II and added 34 new avatars to it. You can check the updated set here.
November 1, 2003 - Online for a year
That's right, exactly one year ago I published my first avatar set. I never believed that this site would become anything special, but this site has grown much more than I expected back then.
For upcoming year I can promise to make some anime and video game avatar sets. I doubt that I can make as many avatars I did last year, but I always try to surpass myself.

Only one avatar set has been requested on last eight months. If you want to get an avatar set tell it to me. I can't fulfill all the requests, but I can fulfill easy requests like "Make a Chaos Legion avatar set."
When this site was still new and fresh lots of requests were made and fulfilled. I hope this courages you to request avatar sets.
September 29, 2003 - First News
This is the first news article posted on Salamander's Avatar Place. More news will be posted in the future.
Syphon has left Salamander's Avatar Place. He is planning to make his own avatar site, but nothing is certain yet. When I get more info about 'Syphon's Avatar Site' I will tell you. You can contact Syphon by e-mailing him. His e-mail address is adamhanley@cox.net.
