|
half past midnight
half past midnight
sat by an open window
and watched the still night.
I watched the lonely street below
waiting for you to come my way
rested my chin in my palm,
my elbow on the
window sill,
watched a lonely street
lit by a single street lamp
glanced up to see a mountain
in the distance
and there you were
coming from the mountain
miles and miles away.
forty five past,
sat by an open window
as the midnight breeze
invited itself in,
I couldn't protest,
I sat with this lonely breeze
over a lonely street,
waiting for you to
come take me away.
