it was on a wednesday

on this long journey home
my mind wanders
as my eyes stay
on the road.
but the first sight
as I turn on grand,
is Boswell,
though miles and miles
ahead.
towering above
my eyes wander also,
off the road, following this
large, white structure
with blinking red lights
and can't help but recall
endless white walls
and water pouring down
the tinted windows
in the waiting room.
it was on a wednesday,
a dreary, rainy wednesday
and what was ten minutes
felt like ten hours
and what was a
quiet journey home
was a road of memories
I wasn't certain I wanted
to remember,
but was sure I'd
regret
if I didn't.
one half hour later
from there to home,
keeping my eyes on
the road, and not
in the distance.
on this long journey home
all I want to see
when I get there
is him.
