Welcome to the latest incarnation of The Doors - Live And Rare. Originally begun as a simple trade list back in 1999, the site grew to become one of the largest Doors websites on the Internet. With less time on my hands and plans to create another website having fallen through, it reverted to a personal trade list and an online guide for unreleased Doors recordings.Over the last few years, I have become interested in acquiring not only every Doors recording I can find but also the best quality tapes available. As such, these pages contain the most up-to-date list of Doors audio/video recordings known to circulate and the best sources I've been able to track down for them. Many of these tapes have also been restored (or "remastered") by me in an attempt to achieve the best quality possible. Restoring a recording generally involves correcting the speed, repairing glitches, and, when appropriate, some equalization. At no point do I use any kind of noise or hiss reduction on these recordings.
This list is by no means complete and remains an on-going project. Therefore, if there is anything you have that I do not have listed or if you have a better source than what I have listed, please feel free to contact me. I am open to trading or buying tapes. Note that I am only interested in Doors recordings from 1965-1972. If you do not have anything to offer in trade, I hope you can use the information collected within these pages to help put together your own Doors collection with a thorough knowledge of what is out there and the best sources currently available.
