Business
Law and Personal Law are particularly well-matched themes for an introductory
law course. Both subjects are based upon
the same legal concepts. As students
become familiar with these underlying concepts, they will better understand the
importance of the law in general, become familiar with relevant specific laws,
and explore the applications of law both in business situations and in more
familiar personal transactions.
Students
completing this course will gain academic knowledge and skills in the following
areas:
v Understanding
substantive business and personal law
v Understanding
legal procedures and the range of legal remedies
v Understanding
the sources and methods of legal research
v Using
precise legal language
v Analyzing
and Applying principles to legal situations.
v Formulating
and argument based on facts and principles
v Expressing
facts, principles, and arguments in writing.
Students will have insight into
the legal system, the dynamic nature of the law, the rights and duties of
citizens, consumers, workers, and business owners.
All work completed in the
Business Law course counts the same amount toward the final grade. This will include Tests, Quizzes, Homework,
Computer Assignments, Worksheets, Group work, and any other Bookwork
assigned. All of these listed previously
will be out of 100 possible points.
