Induction

Also called orientation.
 
The induction is mainly to show you how the
airline is run and exactly where you as a flight
attendant fits into the airline.You will also be introduced
to management and other staff members and
departments that you will be dealing with. 
 
During induction your training contract will be finilised
if this has not already been done during the interview.
You will be taken to the uniform department and
your uniform sizes will be taken.
 
You will all be bussed to the dept of Home Affairs
in Germiston (If you are JHB based) to have your
application for a Crew Pass finilized.
You will use this pass instead of a passport
to gain access to other countries while flying
and looks like this:
 
 
Your passport will however still be used
and must be on your person at all times
when flying.
 
You will also at this time have your security card issued
which allows you access to and from the workplace.
 
Other issues which will be discussed are:
· Employee wellbeing.
· Dress code/uniform code.
· Union enrolment.
· Discussion with HR and management.
· Discussions with other Senior flight attendants and
   flight deck crew.
· Behavioral protocols etc.
· Financial planning.
· Logistics
· Customs and excise.
· Medical aid.
· Housing assistance (If applicable).
· Discussions on the actual training.
· Vision and mission of your particular airline.
 
Induction usually takes 2 - 3 days
