227 years ago a ragtag army made up mostly of civilian soldiers; shopkeepers, farmers,
merchants, people from every walk of life, defeated the most powerful military in the
world at that time, the formidable British Empire.
The enemy was magnificently trained, well supplied, well led, and had fought many campaigns
against far more powerful adversaries. Snuffing out the flickering flame of liberty that
sputtered to life in the 13 colonies was expected to be an effortless task.
What the English failed to account for, however, was the help of Almighty God, our Father in heaven.
With the odds heavily against them, starving, freezing, desperate, the upstart Americans staged a
brilliant attack on the unsuspecting British in their bivouac at Princeton, after marching
all night in the bitter cold, their feet freezing and bellies empty, led by General George Washington.
That overwhelming victory broke the back of the great British Army and America gained its independence.
Virtually every man who penned his name on the Declaration of Independence suffered terrible
consequences for his courage. Most of them lost everything, including their families, in the
ensuing conflagration with the mighty England. They were hunted down, their homes burned, and
they spent the remainder of their days as fugitives. Many died of influenza or pneumonia. Others
died fighting in the ranks.
The price they paid for their patriotism is an inspiration to every generation of Americans who
followed. Their sacrifice stands as the standard of nobility that is required of a free people,
ever willing to stand in the breech and face the wrath of any enemy to protect our beloved
homeland.
Millions of brave men and women have answered that call and added their own names to the roster
of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for every living citizen of this country, that we may
continue to dwell in peace and prosperity. We can't say it too many times, or shed too many tears in
their memory, for what they did.
But abroad in the land today is a crescendo of strident voices that brings shame to our nation.
They quaver with emotion in their pleas for all Americans to be mindful of the sensitivities of
others, strangers that have migrated here like all of our ancestors.
These voices belong to the people that have been labelled "politically correct", and that they are.
But they are far from correct in any other context, particularly the proud traditions of a great
nation.
Where these people came from, or what persuasion has fashioned their convictions, is a mystery I
have long ago ceased trying to understand. I can only say that what they believe is not only an
insult to every man and woman who died for this country, those of us who are yet proud Americans,
but worst of all they are an affront to our Sovereign Lord who has blessed us with liberty and
prosperity.
The American people are being besieged with this shameful din of unholy demands, insisting that we
surrender our heritage, our culture, our traditions, and even our faith, to assuage the whims of
those who have flocked to our shores in recent years.
Sleazy lawyers, legislators, politicians, news broadcasters, celebrities, professors, liberals all, chastise
us for having the temerity to display a nativity scene in public to commemorate the birth of our
Savior. They demand that every mention of God be eradicated from our schools, our public institutions,
even our own front yards, for these are an offense to the newest wave of immigrants to America.
Cries of "Racism!" ring out because law enforcement and security personnel are instructed to keep an eye
open for anyone of Arabic persuasion as a possible terrorist suspect. Recently a woman in Florida was
allowed to have her picture put on a driver's license even though her face was concealed by a burka, the
veil a Muslim woman wears.
All of these issues originate from the same sorry point of view; that there is something inherently wrong
with being American and we should tread on eggshells whenever anyone, form anywhere, has a gripe about how
we do things, or what we believe.
Before I comment on this mind set, I'd like to ask an open question to every newcomer with the same attitude
this lady in Florida has...if things are so frigging great where you come from, what is your sorry ass doing
here in my country?
If your god is so deserving of your worship, then why hasn't he provided you with all
the goodies back home that you came here for? I would remind you that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob gave us
what we have, and if our God and our laws disagree with you, hey! Don't waste another minute taking up space
in America!
To put it more succinctly, get the hell out! (and the camel you rode in on!).
Good Americans are willing to tolerate any screwball, and allow them to worship any half-assed diety. That's
your problem, but we expect you to tolerate our traditions, religious and otherwise, while you're sucking up
to your god, and if your don't like it climb aboard your dromedary and vamoose!
By the way, if this sounds callous to you, and you feel as though I am violating your right to worship
on American soil, feel again. Nothing in the American code of freedom says we must give you an obsequious smile and
pretend like Allah or Buddha or Mohammed, or any other loser, is a legitimate diety, nor are we obliged to utter
oohs and ahhhs, with big round eyes, because you do the weird stuff you do, as if it's deserving of our
respect. Our laws require us to respect your right to worship, not your lame god, nor you for that matter.
You see Faisal, America wouldn't be America if it weren't for the plucky attitude of past generations that
kicked ass and took names of people that didn't like us. We didn't achieve what we have by asking, in a
nice way, if the rest of humanity would kindly let us alone to pursue our notions of liberty and free enterprise.
Nope, that isn't how it works Boris. We declared that we were free and drew blood to make it stick, and we
occassionally suit up and get into the game again when some maniac decides to rule the world. We don't ask anyone
for anything, but rather we attend to our own affairs as we please and if any other nation tries to interfere
we kick their ass.
I know, I know...such an arrogant attitude, right?
No, it isn't. This is the attitude that freedom requires to be born, and to continue. Don't get the mistaken
idea that the pussies in America who cater to every whim of every person from every corner of the earth had
anything to do with making this country what it is. They didn't. What's more, the next time it's necessary
to fight to keep us free they'll be the farthest ones away from the battleground. Still, the miracle of freedom
gives them the right to make unadulterated asses of themselves.
As for the elected and appointed officials, celebrities and other citizens with this wimpy attitude. You men and
women, officials, have a responsibility to carry out the law, like the Department of Motor Vehicles in
Florida. Where the hell do you get the nerve to allow some wacko immunity from the law because they have a
chauvinistic tradition that forbids a woman to show her face to other men? If she can't bear to bare her
puss then she doesn't need to be driving!
The lot of you are a disgrace to the American ideal! Wringing your hands, all stressed out because some raghead
frowns over our lifestyle. What a bunch of yellow chickencrap! You call this attitude laudable? You think
that you serve the principle of human dignity in this fashion?
Nothing could be farther from the truth! An attitude like yours is what brought us to this low ebb in our history
in the first place. The Masters of Appeasement; Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, and all their
Congressional ilk, have maneuvered us into a position of vulnerability.
Let me ask y'all, pussies, a question. Where do you suppose we'd be today if the people of the 13 colonies had
kissed King George's ass and sat still for outrageous taxes and the abuse of their soldiers in the private
homes of our citizens? Or if we had sat out World War II? Or if all Americans were as lame as you are?
We wouldn't be here, that's for sure. We wouldn't be free, and we wouldn't have the richest lifestyle in the
world, the most dynamic business sector, the most advanced medicine, the most or best of anything. We wouldn't
be America.
