It's easy to throw the term "Divine viewpoint", or the "plan of God", the "will of God" around,
but actually accomplishing our role in His plan is another thing, is
it not? It has been the preoccupation with millions of Christians, down through the centuries, to ponder this weighty subject, but too much of the time we embark on a path that is more our will, justified by our supposition that God is in agreement on the matter. Well, much of the time, He is not. Much of the time He sighs, as it were, and waits patiently to bless us while we are jousting windmills and the like. The balance of the lives of most Christians, in fact, is spent in folly, an arrogant mirage created in their own minds, a drama in which they play the leading role, and all others fall into the pecking order somewhere beneath them. In this we are doomed to emulate the originator of arrogance, and all the dark motives that accompany it, Satan himself. What more distorted illusion could a creature devise than this?, To take over the Universe from The Most High, Lord of all, Whose glory is more wonderful than we are able to see with these feeble eyes?.... There is a higher sphere of evil deception, and that is to believe that one can accomplish so enormous a task. Concieving of the notion is child's play compared to undertaking the challenge in earnest. To this day Lucifer is absolutely convinced that he will prevail, that or he recieve a reprieve from the Highest Judge....but he will not. He, and all that share his tragic end, will be banished to the Lake of Fire forever. If the most powerful creature ever to come from the hand of God can be so carried away in his own contrived reality, so can these earthen vessels! Me and thee. In fact, our meager wits are so pitifully puny, compared to the multi-genius of Lucifer, who once stood proudly at the base of the Mountain of Fire, the Throne of the Most High, that we are only able to manufacture a reality which is far short of Satan's grand designs. How can this happen, for so many well intentioned Christians to live such vapid lives, when they express a desire to serve God? Ah ha! Herein is the great battle that we must confront and overcome; to allow God to establish our reality, an existence that is fashioned by the power of Divine dynamics working in our lives. As we matriculate in the Word, we gradually aquire the "mind of Christ". Our cosmic values are replaced with God's values, but more than that, we are transformed into "the new man", as the great Apostle Paul phrased it. Divine truth builds a new man on the ashes of the old, possessing the mind of the Second Adam rather than the first, who was devoured by his own arrogance. An everpresent danger for all of us, who are the elect, is the predatory nature that resides within. For the temptations of this doomed environment may court our cooperation, but the foolishness that we, ourselves, invent becomes the evil power that drives us if we reject Divine counsel. Of course, when we are learned enough in the truth we can discern right from wrong, and I mean Divine right from human right. The one is based upon eternal truth, while the latter is constructed on a foundation of sand, this transative exsistence where nothing, not even the Earth itself, nor the vast stellar space, will last. Just as children one day put aside their erector set and take on the task of building a bridge, with an engineer's education, so we as Christians eventually commit to memory the fundamental truths of The Word, and move on to tackle the more profound quest of applying the concepts we have learned under the tutlage of The Holy Spirit. No easy task, my fellow travellers, eh? Along the way we learn about God, and as we do our thinking is colored by the contrast between our God and us, His creatures. So long as we are mindful of His preeminence, we are conversely aware of our immeasurable inadequacy, our need of His strength and guidance. Founding our thoughts upon this most fundamental truth produces humility, the quality of being teachable. Conversely, ignorance begets arrogant pride, and God "blesses the humble, but makes war against the arrogant." I need not remind you that this is the most glaring difference bewteen the haughty arrogance of the lost, as well as children of the light who, for the duration of this life, are under it's sway...the notion that the creature is king. Far be it from any Christian to freely admit this collossal flaw, for the very nature of arrogance is blinding ignorance. The last to see their malaise are the very people who practice it. Be advised, they can see their own shortcomings in others quick enough, but another charactaristic of arrogance is self-righteousness, which blinds them to their own culpability. Ignorance = Blindness = Arrogance. So much so that God teaches us that only His Word can shine the light of truth on our dilemma, and provide us the sight to pick our way through the briars to a safe haven. Consider this; God is the antithesis of all that is in this world. - He is eternal, with no beginning and no ending. The world is finite, with an origin and a terminus. - He rules Heaven, while Satan rules this Cosmos Diabolicus. - He is perfect, while we are corrupt. - He is all knowing, while we are unknowing. - He is righteous, while we are unrighteous. - He is eternal life, while we are in a body of death. These are but a few of the striking contrasts bewteen God's existence and ours. It leaves us with a choice, whether to become a part of His world, or this one. The problem with choosing God's agenda is that we can expect an enormous reaction from this world. At that point we become, not only children of light, but children with big, sharp teeth. The more enured we become to the Divine norm, the more adept we are at sinking these fangs deep into the vulnerable ass of the nearest demon. However, we are not able to percieve of this marvelous feat in other than the resultant circumstances which may be manifest in our lives, and even then we must be students of the Word in order to recognize the effect that our lives have on the 4th dimension. This is a wonderful thought, isn't it? Think about it, God has made available to us the power to overcome what we are, at the very life core of our souls. This in itself is a miracle of awesome proportions, for no more difficult enterprise ever challenged God, to project Himself into an alien environment, and transform a corrupt entity into a lethal weapon. This is one aspect of our service to God. We war not against principalities and powers, or earthly nations, but against the Prince of the Power of the Air, which refers to the first and second heavens, Earth's atmosphere and stellar space. What makes it so difficult for God to "reinvent" us, as oppossed to say, creating the entire Universe in a wink, is that the potential weapon has a voiltion, and therefore, God must have our total committment, for He will not coerce even one person to follow Him. God is the inventor of freedom, while Satan, always at the opposite end of the spectrum, is about tyranny. But this freedom, or tyranny, are conditions that we are at liberty to choose between, and the proposition that entraps sp many in its web is that serving God requires a conscious decision, while serving Satan comes naturally. The body we occupy, for the present, is part and parcel of this world, and we grow in knowledge of the environment we are born into each year until we master the mechanics of the system, or some do. Even being a religious fanatic is a flawed anomaly, for it is laced with just enough truth to entice the fool, but operates in the realm of tyranny. Any time anyone pronounces judgement from God on you, and demands any concession whatever, it is a violation of the privacy of your priesthood, and an abomination. In this age we are Royal Priests, and our conversation is with God directly. No middle men. Truth used to an evil end is not the truth of God, but a morsel of bait to serve the creature's will. Like wholesome food that spoils and becomes rancid, it attracts the parasites of life. Keep in mind, though, that parasite or Prince is a choice all believers must make. What it comes down to, after all the bluster, is what source are you plugged into? Never mind all the lofty principles of The Word. Making this decision is a no-brainer. God makes it easy enough for the dumbest, thumb sucking moron to grasp....we just make ourselves available to the Holy Spirit, study the Word every day, and the transformation of His design will overwhelm us. We don't have to strive, or stew in self-pity because of past sins (to make it up to God). We don't have to pay the Devil his ransom for any blessing we come by. This is the victory of God in our lives, and His ultimate reason for creating us, to show forth the irresistable power of His Word, the written embodiment of all that He is. If we are so fortunate to reach the pinnacle of the spiritual life, we glorify God forever, and the blessings for "breaking through" the barrier of corruption, and exercising our wills in such a manner as to accept the authority of our Creator as the basis for our lives, assures us superior blessing in eternity, far and away higher than "standard issue" blessings. |
